Leisure Interest Courses Summer Activity Weeks
Earnley offers the perfect type of holiday for people who want to enjoy a week of creativity, learning and leisure, during the summer season. Our Activity Weeks include expert instruction in a wide range of subjects combined with a programme of leisure activities and social events. As ever at Earnley, you will find the ambience both informal and friendly; indeed, our Activity Weeks provide the ideal opportunity to share interests and make new acquaintances. Individuals are free to decide on their own level of involvement, so some may choose to spend their week as actively as possible and others may prefer to take a more leisurely approach.
In 2010 we are offering two Summer Activity Weeks. Each week features a selection of six courses – for details please see overleaf. The programme of leisure activities and social events will be the same for all three weeks, as indicated on the timetable. Please note that the residential course fee, which represents truly excellent value, is fully inclusive of accommodation, all meals, tuition, leisure activities, visits and entrance fees.
Courses You can choose one from the selection of six courses, as listed. The course sessions take place each morning, except Tuesday, which means that you can develop a real understanding of the subject and achieve positive results by the end of the week.
Optional Activities To add variety to your stay, we offer a range of optional activities that you can take part in if you wish. The afternoon programme will include two guided visits to local sites of historical interest. On the other afternoons there will be a number of options to choose from – these will include guided walks, croquet and pétanque. After dinner each evening you can participate in one of the specially arranged evening events, which will include a film show.
Open Sessions At pre-arranged times (to be notified on the detailed timetable) we will be inviting tutors to talk about their work or give a practical demonstration; these sessions are open to everyone and are intended to generate an interest in the various subjects represented.
Free Day On Tuesday of each week, you will be free to relax and enjoy Earnley’s excellent leisure facilities or explore the local countryside. Alternatively, you can venture a little further and join the all-day coach tour (cost included) which will go to a well-known visitor attraction in the morning, followed by a guided tour of a country house and garden in the afternoon (draft itinerary available on request).
What They Cost Resident Fee £590 Non-Resident Fee £347 These prices comprise a complete package which includes the cost of your chosen course, all optional activities and visits. Please note that in the case of some courses, students may incur a charge for materials, which will be payable at the time.

The appropriate deposit is payable (£165 for residents or £95 for non-residents). Alternatively, you can make your booking by telephone and pay the deposit by credit or debit card.
Special Note 1. It is intended that the optional activities, including visits and evening entertainments, will be the same on all three weeks.
